The Thomas Silva Memorial Scholarship is designed to embody the legacy that our father left behind. It is for students who display traits and characteristics of perseverance while maintaining a positive attitude and continually striving for success. It is created to help those who have faced difficult challenges or who are currrently standing resilient in the face of adversity. It is for those students who have had to learn the hard lesson of what resilience means while they keep pushing forward, navigating the obstacles littering their path to success. Success being identified as a collegiate academic institution or training program to learn a skill or trade for a career whether post high-school or Adult Education.

Thomas Silva was an at-risk youth himself, growing up in Coachella. He understood that to remedy his situation, he needed to make it out of poverty. During his life and 30 years in education, he helped hundreds of students who were also at risk and needed guidance, just like he did growing up. The wisdom and philosophy he taught his own children have manifested in continuing the effort. Now his legacy is giving back. Donating to this scholarship is a great way to help At-Risk Youth reach their goals.
